Hi-ring, the Handset Vintage Hi-fun Review of Telephone

An old-style handset for one of the most advanced telephone devices in the consumer it makes sense or not? It is really useful? Depends on your point of view. If you need a headset to speak more comfortably in the car, obviously not. If what you seek is an accessory that can dramatically improve the audio quality of your calls either. But there is a but: Hi-Ring of Hi-Fun, as well as all the other vintage cornets of his race, has no such aspirations.

Hi-Ring is, first of all, what Americans would call a conversation starter. An object interested or funny, maybe a bit absurd that arouses the interest of those who use it sees. Make no mistake: the Hi-Ring will not make you cool or more kennels will help more: it may make you a little more than usual geek-cool, use Hi-Ring by car or on the street no change to Lenny Kravitz.

Relegate cornerstone Hi-Fun in the field of gadgetry fun it would be unfair, though, because Hi-Ring is an idea seized upon, with the right timing, and developed well. It is not the only product of its kind in the world and was not invented by Hi-Fun, but the Italians have been able to create a version of the phone well finished, with nice packaging and above A total approach to the product that usually does not fall within the characteristics of knickknacks all commodities known as “gifts”.

From a purely technical point of view, on Hi-Ring is not much to say, is locked in a standard earphone as anachronistic. An object skeuomorfico par excellence, as I said not without some excessive ambitions language in my article last week on the phone vintage fashion.
The handle of the phone is the volume buttons and the button with which you can respond directly to a call or play your iPod. Listen to music from your phone, however, does much “melody waiting” and is not exactly use the Hi-ring that I would recommend.

The sound quality is pretty good, especially the output. On the other hand, there surely will hear loud and clear. The audio output of the handset is a bit ‘” canned”, as I say in the video, but overall is good. It is a very warm sound that reminds one of the phones. I believe it depends on whether the speaker is mounted within the handset, which at the same time, wrapping the ear is able to effectively eliminate ambient noise.

As you can see from the photos and videos in this article I have chosen to go beyond a simple handset and I paired Hi-Ring with an old phone to dial numbers FATME I found on eBay for a 25ina of €, Sent. The old grigio Bakelite, alas, it was not included in the package of Hi-ring.
